Finland, Lammi - Rohatsu Sesshin with Karen Terzano

WELCOME TO OUR YEARLY ROHATSU SESSHIN AT LAMMI ZEN CENTER!

Sesshin is an intensive Zen retreat with about 8 hours of zazen (sitting meditation) every day. The word “sesshin” is Japanese and means “touching the heart-mind”. Sesshin consists of meditation, recitation, bowing practice, work period (including some simple work tasks), movement practice, rest periods, eating and sleeping.

The Sesshin will take place at Lammi Zen Center from Saturday to Saturday 5.12. – 12.12.2026

Teacher at this sesshin is Karen Terzano.

Rohatsu Sesshin is a wonderful opportunity to enjoy the supporting structure of a more traditional sesshin form. It is a perfect opportunity to come together with the rest of the sangha at the end of the year and deepen our zen practice in the deep darkness of Finnish December.

Rohatsu is an annual sesshin that commemorates Buddha’s struggle and enlightenment under the bodhi tree and it takes place at the same time at zen centers around the globe.

The sesshin will start on Saturday December 5th at 18:00, and ends Saturday December 12th around 14:00

The sesshin fee is 330€ for non-members or 290€ for members. In case of financial hardship, please do not hesitate to contact the jikido: jyri.riihijarvi (at) gmail.com
